Dreispitz
Experience Dreispitz: Community, Originality & Inspiration
We will meet you at Basel’s main train station and begin with a short introduction to the day’s itinerary before setting off together to discover Dreispitz. After a one-stop tram ride, we arrive at the Christoph Merian Garten, where the story of Dreispitz unfolds — from its historical origins shaped by heritage landscapes to the vibrant creative campus it has become today.
Here, you can experience the playful and innovative spirit of the district by trying mini golf on a course built entirely from recycled materials. Continue along the former railway lines, where striking street art brings colour and character to the urban landscape, and pause at the beer bar wagon of Birtel Brewery. Sustainability and creativity come together at OFFCUT, a marketplace dedicated to reused materials that reflects Dreispitz’s spirit of transformation and innovation.
During the journey, we also visit the House of Electronic Arts (HEK), where interactive exhibitions explore the intersection of art, media, and technology, offering new perspectives on contemporary culture.
To complete the experience, a homemade hot chocolate or refreshing drink is included in the price and will be enjoyed at Weizenkorn Café, a local enterprise that supports vocational reintegration while embodying the community-driven spirit of the district.
